Connect Instagram to Immosearch

Immosearch publishes your properties on your Instagram account. For that you need a professional account (business or creator). There are two ways; the first one is simpler.

What you need

  • A professional Instagram account (business or creator). You can switch a personal account for free in 2 minutes – step 2.
  • Way A “Instagram directly”: nothing else. No Facebook Page, no business portfolio.
  • Way B “via Facebook”: additionally a Facebook Page with full control that your Instagram account is linked to.

A personal account doesn’t work. Instagram only lets apps like Immosearch publish on business and creator accounts.

Switch to a professional account

Is your account already a business or creator account? Then skip to step 3.

  1. Instagram app › your profile picture at the bottom right.
  2. Top right ☰ More – this opens Settings and activity.
  3. Under For professionals › Account type and tools › Switch to professional account.
  4. Choose a category, for example Real Estate Agent › again Switch to professional account.
  5. Business (or Creator) › Next. You can answer “Log in to Facebook” with Skip – not needed for way A.

Good to know: followers and posts stay; a private account becomes public. You can switch back any time.

Two ways: directly or via Facebook

Way A · Recommended

Instagram directly

You sign in with your Instagram credentials. That’s the “Connect Instagram” button.

  • No Facebook Page needed
  • Only your professional account
  • One Instagram account per connection
Way B

Via your Facebook Page

Sign in with Facebook; your Instagram account must be linked to your Page. That’s the text link “Connect via a Facebook Page”.

  • Handy if you also post on Facebook – one connection for both
  • When connecting, tick both: Instagram account and Page
  • If the Page belongs to a business portfolio, the Instagram account must be in the same portfolio
Way B: how to link Instagram to your Facebook Page

In the Instagram app: Edit profile › Public business information (creator: Profile information) › Page › Connect or create › Next › Log in to Facebook › choose the Page › Connect.

On a computer in Facebook: profile picture › See all profiles › Page › the Page’s profile picture › Settings & privacy › Settings › Linked accounts › Instagram › Connect account.

Connect to Immosearch

  1. In your Immosearch account open Settings › Connections. Next to Instagram click Connect Instagram (way A) or Connect via a Facebook Page (way B).
  2. Sign in and leave all permissions switched on.
  3. Back at Immosearch the Manage Instagram window opens: tick the account and click “Save” – only then is it active for posts.

If something doesn’t work

“Please connect a professional Instagram account (business or creator)”

Your account is still personal. Switch it (step 2) and click “Connect Instagram” again.

“Please allow all requested Instagram permissions and connect again”

A permission was unticked while signing in. Connect again and leave everything switched on.

Way B: “We couldn’t find an Instagram account”

Three possible reasons: the account is still personal (step 2), Instagram isn’t linked to the Facebook Page (step 3, way B), or not both were ticked when connecting. Disconnect, click “Connect via a Facebook Page” again and change your previous choice in the Facebook window.

Connected, but posts don’t appear

Instagram only accepts JPEG photos up to 8 MB with an aspect ratio between 4:5 and 1.91:1 – Immosearch takes care of that. At most 100 posts a day. If your account is restricted, open the Instagram app and complete the steps shown there.

“Renew connection” – expired

With way A Immosearch refreshes the connection daily; with way B it expires after a while or after a password change. If Connections shows “Renew connection”, click it. If the button is missing: click “Disconnect”, then connect again and tick the page in the window once more – until then, posts that are due are skipped.

Revoke access

In Immosearch click “Disconnect” under Connections. Additionally on Instagram: Settings and activity › Website permissions › Apps and websites › Immosearch Remove. Way B additionally on Facebook under Business integrations.

Immosearch also shows a connected and switched-on account on your public provider profile – after disconnecting it disappears there again.
